2013 Stanford Ignite Fellow, Stanford Graduate School of Business; PhD, Aalborg University and the Postgraduate School of Microenergy Systems, TU Berlin, with doctoral thesis on the role of energy in development processes, energy poverty and technical innovations, with a special focus on Bangladesh. Author of a book and multiple journal articles on the topic of decentralized electrification in the Global South. Started career at MicroEnergy International, a Berlin-based consultancy firm working on microfinance and decentralized energy. 2014, founded SOLshare, currently Chief Executive Officer. Associate Professor, Business School, BRAC University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Recipient of numerous awards on behalf of SOLshare, including: Tech Pioneer 2018, World Economic Forum; best energy start-up in the world, Free Electrons; UN DESA Powering the Future We Want $1 million Energy Grant with Grameen Shakti. Ashoka Fellow; UBS Global Visionary.
