A recipient of National Women Achiever Award in India, she works as a Gender Expert in India. She is an advocate of gender equality and women rights promotion. She has completed her studies in gender studies and political science and governance from Delhi University. She had attended international leadership program in the UK. She has the expertise and specializes in conceiving, designing and promoting interventions and policies targeting at Gender issues. She has worked on Education Leadership in India and with Department of Education held the position of state coordinator of Bihar for mainstreaming gender equality through education. Her publication on gender “Asha ki udaan " has been released on centenary year by the department of education.S he has intensively worked for almost a decade on women and gender issues. She worked for Gender and Education Leadership in India with Department of Education, Government of Bihar and UNICEF. As a State lead of Gender Cell, she has been a member of Committee against Sexual Harassment, Education Department and Nodal Officer, of First-ever Women World Cup Kabaddi in 2012 held in India. She has been the recipient of various national and international awards for her work on women empowerment and gender equality. Presently, as a Gender Specialist, IRRI she closely works with women farmers on innovation and policy. She has played an important role as a catalyst for incepting the innovation model to work with women farmers "Kisan Sakhi "which has played a decisive role in establishing the identity of women farmers in the state of Bihar. For her contributions in the field of Gender and women empowerment, she has received various awards at state, National and International Levels.
