Smart city planning must work for both private business and public citizens
Smart city partnerships between the public and private sectors can be challenging, and the uncertainties around new technologies bring new challenges.
Suparno Banerjee is Vice President, Government & Cities for Nokia. He is responsible for developing Nokia's Public Sector and Smart Cities strategy and business development, including Nokia's go-to-market approach and client innovation model to accelerate growth in public sector. Suparno is a recognized thought leader in Smart City and Digital Government, has led numerous projects in cities globally, and has presented to numerous governments and at key events and forums. Previously, Suparno was Vice President for Strategy for HP’s Enterprise Group in Asia Pacific & Japan region. He led HP’s city-level implementations in Asia and shaped HPE’s Future City strategy. Subsequent to his strategy role in APJ, he joined the Office of the CEO to drive new growth initiatives in the Public Sector. Suparno serves on the WEF's GFC for Platform Economy.
