Supheakmungkol Sarin

Supheakmungkol Sarin has over 15 years of experience in various roles in academia, consulting, R&D, and program management. His passion is democratizing technologies for all, particularly for under-served and marginalized communities. Before joining the World Economic Forum, Supheakmungkol spent nearly a decade at Google, where he worked in the Emerging Markets, Research and Core Machine Learning departments. During this tenure, he led various initiatives to enhance representation and access to technology through innovative and inclusive data collection methods, new machine learning models, and community engagement efforts.

Supheakmungkol also served as the President of the Internet Society San Francisco Bay Area Chapter between 2020 to 2021. He holds a Doctorate of Science in Global Information and Telecommunication Studies from Waseda University, and has authored over 30 research papers in machine learning, crowdsourcing, and low-resourced language resources and technologies. Supheakmungkol is a Senior Member of IEEE.
