Li Dongsheng

Founder and Chairman, TCL

Li Dongsheng is the Founder and Chairman of TCL. Li is the 12th Vice Chairman of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Vice Chairman of China Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Federation of Shenzhen Commerce.

Li graduated from South China University of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1982. In year 2005-2007, Li completed CEO courses offered by China Europe International Business School and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business respectively. In 2022, Li completed the professional doctoral program offered by University of Minnesota in partnership with Tsinghua University and received a global doctor of business administration (DBA) degree.

Li joined the founding of TCL immediately after graduation from university. In 1985, Li served as the General Manager of TCL Communications Equipment Corporation. In 1993, he became the General Manager of TCL Electronics. In 1996, he took the position of Chairman and CEO of TCL Group. In 2019, after TCL Group was restructured into TCL Technology and TCL Industrial Holdings, Li started to serve as Chairman and CEO of TCL Technology, Chairman of TCL Industrial Holdings.

Li has long-term and extensive experience in the management of high-tech manufacturing firms and globalization of Chinese enterprises. Under his leadership, TCL has grown from a small start-up into a global group with leading advantages in smart device, display technology and clean energy.
