Ms Veronica Nilsson is General Secretary of the Trade Union Advisory Committee to the OECD (TUAC).
She was Head of the Global Deal Support Unit in the Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs (ELS) at the OECD between July 2019 and May 2022. In this position, she has provided overall leadership and strategic guidance to further the work of the Global Deal partnership on sound industrial relations and social dialogue to contribute to decent work, quality jobs and increased productivity and by extension to greater equality and inclusive growth.
Before joining the OECD, she oversaw a regional project on trade-related issues at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Office in Singapore (2017-2019). She has held several elected positions within the trade union movement between 2010 and 2016 including as Deputy General Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC).
Prior to this, she worked at the European Federation of Public Service Unions in 2009, she served as Senior Policy Advisor at the Trade Union Advisory Committee to the OECD (2001-2008), and was a researcher at the Swedish Confederation of Professional Employees (1996-2001).
Ms Nilsson is a Swedish national and holds a Master’s Degree in Political Economy from Stockholm University.
