As the world’s biggest emitter, can Asia lead the charge against climate change?
Asia, the region emitting the most greenhouse gases, will need to play a key role in turning the tide against climate change.
Victoria Kwakwa is currently the Country Director for Vietnam at the World Bank. She has held this post since 2009, and joined the World Bank as a young professional in 1989. Her work at the World Bank has been mainly on economic policy issues across a range of countries in Africa and East Asia. Key areas of her work include competitiveness and growth issues, public expenditure management, fiscal decentralization and economic governance. Ms Kwakwa was a member of the core team for the 2000/2001 World Development Report on Poverty. She has worked in Washington as well as in field assignments in Nigeria, Rwanda and now in Vietnam. Ms Kwakwa holds a PhD in economics from Queens University in Canada.
