This AI detects a vision-threatening eye disease with 96% accuracy

SAARIA spots a condition called diabetic retinopathy (DR), which affects people with diabetes and can cause blindness. SAARIA uses special camera imaging read by precision-trained artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms. Diagnosis is automatic and takes just a few minutes. Developed by Saudi AI healthcare specialists SDM, SAARIA has shown over 96% sensitivity to DR, beating traditional methods of detection, which pick up 22-60% of cases.
