The Square Kilometre Array or SKA-Low will consist of 131,072 antennas, each resembling a 2-meter Christmas tree. It will be 8 times more sensitive than existing telescopes and able to map the sky 135 times faster. The telescope will let us look back into the ‘cosmic dawn’, chart the birth and death of galaxies and stars and maybe even search for alien life. The Square Kilometre Array Observatory Project has been 3 decades in the making. It's a collaboration between 16 countries. SKA-Low Has been named due to its sensitivity to low radio frequencies. A sister site SKA-Mid will soon be built in South Africa. Watch to learn more about the Square Kilometer Array radio telescope.
