This law is a big step forwards for gender equality in Ecuador
The Violet Economy is an Ecuadorian initiative that promotes economic gender parity. It also aims to mitigate inequalities that were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has disproportionately affected women but addressing the many challenges for women in the economy will require decisive efforts.
Bridging the gender gap in Ecuador
The Initiative will advance the implementation of the Violet Economy Law through closer collaboration between the public and private sectors.
The Gender Parity Initiative was launched in 2022 and is implemented by the Government of Ecuador, the World Economic Forum, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the French Development Agency.
