HiLo, which stands for ‘high performance, low emissions', is a 2-storey unit in the Swiss city of Dübendorf and could be the future of sustainable construction. Built by a team from ETH Zürich in collaboration with ROK Architects, it uses 70% less concrete and 90% less reinforcing steel than standard concrete floors. With a combination of cutting-edge construction methods with a focus on sustainability, it will help the construction industry cut emissions.
