Europe Is Launching a New Bauhaus Movement. This Time, It’s Based on Sustainability

Bauhaus has had a huge impact on buildings, furniture and graphic design ever since. Now, the EU has announced the New European Bauhaus Academy, drawing together science, technology, art and culture to build the principles of Europe’s Green New Deal into our daily lives. The Green New Deal is the EU’s strategy for becoming climate-neutral by 2050. The first Bauhaus movement explored new shapes in concrete and steel. But the New Bauhaus will use natural materials such as timber. Championing 3 key values: sustainability, style and being accessible to everyone.
