France wants to install ‘teledoctors’ in 300 railway stations
Telemedicine booths will contain TV screens linked up to doctors who will assess patients remotely and be able to prescribe medication or other treatments. France is suffering a nationwide doctor shortage It has just 3.4 doctors per 1,000 people. However, 90% of the population lives within 10km of a railway station and 10 million French people pass through one every day. The 300 stations will be located in areas with insufficient healthcare options. The scheme aims to be up and running by 2028
