These gas turbine power plants are being given a new life with hydrogen
Reusing old infrastructure to prevent waste and turning the turbines into a powerhouse for the energy transition by making them burn sustainable hydrogen instead of gas. Hydrogen has the highest energy per mass of any fuel and when it burns, it releases only heat and water vapour. Repurposed turbines can feed directly into the existing power grid and also shrink demand for new gas turbines as well as new gas.
