The Global Gender Gap Report ranks countries on how large the gap is between men and women rather than overall opportunities and resources for women in any country.

The report measures the position of women across 4 major metrics:

  • Economic Participation and Opportunity
  • Educational Attainment
  • Health and Survival
  • Political Empowerment

Global Progress on gender equality

Globally, the world has become more equal this year, closing the gender gap back to pre-pandemic levels. However, the level of parity still stands at only 68.6%. At the current rate of progress, we won't see a fully equal world until 2154.

  • Iceland (91.2% parity)
  • Norway (87.9% parity)
  • Finland (86.3% parity)
