The US has set the first nationwide limits on 'forever chemicals' in drinking water
‘Forever chemicals’ is a nickname given to some per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Many PFAS are resistant to heat, oil, water or corrosion, which makes them very useful. They’re found in many products, from non-stick pans to clothing and fire-resistant foam. But some studies show these chemicals could pose risks to human health because they don’t break down easily and can accumulate inside our bodies.
