Revolutionising the food industry through plant-based meat | Pioneers for Our Planet
This Dutch company is transforming food normally given to farmed animals into plant-based meat substitutes that look, feel and taste like real meat. With an innovative method developed with scientists from Wageningen University, vegetarian butcher Jaap Korteweg can produce burgers, mince and kebabs using a fraction of the food needed to grow meat from an animal. By reducing the amount of space and feed used for farming animals, this creative approach could also help our efforts to tackle climate change and protect our planet.
